Formulated for fast-acting results, Algae Defense® can be applied directly to treat both floating and bottom forming algae. Our product carries no water use restrictions making it great for freshwater lakes, potable water reservoirs, and game fish ponds. Water treated with Algae Defense® may be used immediately for recreational activities, drinking and irrigation.
Algae can be dangerous to your pond in several ways. First, it can deprive your fish of oxygen, leading to fish kills. Second, it can release toxins that can harm or kill fish, amphibians, and other aquatic animals. Third, it can block sunlight from reaching aquatic plants, preventing them from photosynthesizing and growing. Finally, it can make your pond unattractive and uninviting.
Algae are a natural part of any healthy aquatic ecosystem, but it is important to make sure that you do everything possible to keep your pond free from excessive algae growth.
When To Use:
How To Use:
Mix the desired amount of Algae Defense® and pond water in accordance with label directions. Using a pressurized sprayer, spray the mixture directly onto the target algae. Over time treated algae will begin to brown and die. Once it is completely dead, rake the dead algae away to prevent an accumulation of plant decay and pond muck.
Dosage Rates:
2,000 sq. ft – 1/4 gallon Algae Defense® with 2.5 gallons of water
4,000 sq. ft – 1/2 gallon Algae Defense® with 5 gallons of water
8,000 sq. ft – 1-gallon Algae Defense® with 10 gallons of water
Restrictions of Algae Defense:
