Bio-Balls are compact, lightweight and long lasting media for biological filters.  The high surface area shape of the balls promotes beneficial bacteria colonization.  Bio-Balls maintain their porosity after multiple seasons of use and are a snap to maintain when it comes time to clean.  200 Bio-Balls will treat approximately 400 gallons with a normal fish and bio-load.  25 square inches of surface area per ball.
